J’Something set to judge new reality cooking show

Singing sensation and celebrity chef J’Something has bagged yet another gig as a judge on M-Net’s new reality show My Kitchen Rules SA.

The musician, who recently opened the doors to his own restaurant, said the show suited him to the tee.

“After being approached to appear on a variety of different television shows as a host, I have finally found a series that speaks to my heart and who I am: a show about home cooks,” said J.

J added this is because he is a “a home cook” himself.

“I am looking for South Africans who take home cooking and give it a big helping of finesse. People who are passionate about food and people that can simply put love on a plate,” he added.

M-Net’s head of publicity Lani Lombard said the channel was excited to have J on board.

“He embodies a home cook who was so passionate about food that he turned it into a career for himself,” she said.

J’Something is one of two judges of the upcoming reality show, which is set to air later this year.

The show is based on the popular Australian format, where a diverse group of local foodies will have to cook and entertain up a storm to secure a place in the final and a big cash prize.

Open auditions for the show will be held across the country, visit www.mnet.tv/mkr  for details.
