TV and radio sports presenter Robert Marawa has unleashed his lawyers on the South African Broadcasting Corporation after he was allegedly served with a letter asking him to give reasons why his contract should not be terminated.
Marawa had been given until end of business on Friday to respond to the letter.
However, it has since been established that Marawa ordered his lawyers to respond on his behalf in challenging the SABC.
The latest development follows a meeting between Marawa and the SABC management on Tuesday, where his future at the public broadcaster was discussed.
The TV personality had taken to Twitter to slam the SABC’s decision to suspend his producer, Beverly Maphangwa. The criticism appears to have angered the SABC management.
Sunday World sources said the meeting was attended by SABC group executive for sport Sully Motsweni, acting general manager for radio Orapeleng Lethebe and Marawa.
