Effects Of Westphalia Treaty

These are the effects of the Westphalia Treaty:

  1. The papacy was stripped off his power and the monarchs were given the opportunity to determine the face of its subject.
  2. The holy Roman empire were not a political entity, so the state under them were given freedom with the right to conduct election and foreign policy. This shifted the unification of Germany to 1800.
  3. The Calvinist group were accepted and recognized and freedom of worship was given.
  4. The treaty gave France power over German territories such as Alscace, Berdor, etc.
  5. It brought about the centralization of power .
  6. it produced the European core state, Russia, Prussia, France.
  7. It helped in the maintenance of power
