  • Unplug your phone when it is fully charged

Allowing your phone on the charger after it is fully charged is one bad practice many of us are guilty of, and this practice is very bad for our battery life.

When you unplug your phone from the charger relieves it from overcharging just like it had done an intense workout. It was revealed according to Battery University, that removing your phone from charging when it reaches 100% is like “relaxing muscles after strenuous exercise”.

  • Try not to charge it to the peak (100%)

It’s not advisable to charge your battery up to 100 percent.

It was also revealed by Battery University, that “Lithium-ion batteries are not supposed to be fully charged. It is preferable and recommended for you not to fully charge your phone’s battery, as high voltage stresses the battery” and wears it away as time passes.

A lot of us have this same belief that charging our phones at regular intervals can damage our batteries, but that’s wrong.

Some also say it is better to only charge your phone when the battery is dead or close to dead. This is also a wrong concept.

It will shock you to know that your phone battery will last longer if it is been charged from time to time rather than charging it for a long time when almost empty or empty. As revealed by Battery University, it is better for you to charge your phone when it loses 10%, though we might not be able to keep up with this trend, but you can always plug it whenever you can. It’s not a bad idea to plug and unplug your phone a whole lot of time in a day, as recommended by Battery University.

  • Keep your device cool

Make sure you don’t charge your battery at extreme temperatures. “Extreme cold and high heat reduce charge acceptance, therefore, a moderate temperature is required for a conducive battery charging process” says Battery University.
It is advisable and recommended by Apple to remove phone cases if you notice your device heating up while charging. “If you notice that your device gets hot when you charge it, take it out of its case first. If you’re out in the hot sun, keep your phone covered. It’ll protect your battery’s health,” stated Apple.

To this effect, we are advised to charge our phones multiple times daily, so much more, we should remember that short bursts of charging are advised instead of one long charge, when it’s empty and also keep it in a moderate temperature.
