Seasoned actress Tina Jaxa revealed she plans to bring all the drama and fire to Rhythm City with her Andiswa.
During an interview with TshisaLIVE, Tina shared that her latest character Andiswa took a lot out of her to bring to life.
She explained that more than doing character research, she had to first learn a couple of lessons from her fictitious character so she could be authentic.
“I could have easily just played a role of a small time criminal as I have seen in other stories, but Andiswa had so many layers I had to unfold, so I could do justice to her storyline. I had to learn from her first. The past holds her prisoner and nobody should ever have that happen to them,” she said.
Tina explained that as she peeled away at the character’s layers she learnt about herself and that is why she knows that people will love Andiswa.
“That woman is going to excite the viewers, she has so many secrets and dangerous and devious plans up her sleeve. But people will love her because as much as she is a flame, her character compels you to learn to let go of the past. You don’t want to end up like her,” she said.
Tina has starred in some of SA’s biggest shows including Generations, Madam and Eve, Gold Diggers etc.
Her character Andiswa, is a small-time criminal and fraudster, and a blast from David Genaro’s past.
Tina makes her debut on Rhythm City tonight at 7pm.
